Statement of Faith

Authority of Scripture, The Holy Bible

The Bible, Old Testament and New Testament is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to men, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason. The Bible is the Final Authority for every area of life. (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12).

The One True God

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM,” and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, by simultaneously existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1-2; John 1:1-5, 10-14; Ex. 3:13-14; Deut. 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isa. 43:10-11; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).

Man’s Fall and Redemption

Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” Man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 3:8-19; Rom. 5:12-21).

The Salvation of Man Conditions of Salvation

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole person and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ by His own blood obtained forgiveness of sin and eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. The Grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all people, through the preaching of repentance toward God and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith and not by any human work or effort (Titus 2:11; 3:5-7; Rom. 10:9-15; Luke 24:47; Eph. 2:8-9).

Evidence of Salvation

The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Rom. 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of holiness (1 Thess. 4:7, 2 Tim.1:9).

Righteousness by Faith

After receiving salvation every believer is made righteous before God eternally (2 Cor. 5:21).

The Promise of the Father

All believers should passionately expect and earnestly seek the Promise of the Father, which is the baptism in the Holy Spirit. With it comes the infilling of power for life and service, and the receiving of spiritual gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:1-31; Acts 10:44-46, 11:14-16). This experience may be distinct from and subsequent to the experience of salvation (Acts 2:38; 15:7-9).

Sanctification Process

By the power of the Holy Spirit, we strive to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy”. Sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word (Heb. 12:1, 14; 1 Pet. 1:15-16; 1 Thess. 5:23-24; 1 John 2:6).

The Church

The church is the Holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Each believer is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The Body of Christ includes all of the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. (Eph. 1:22-23; 1 Cor. 12:12-27; Col. 1:18; Luke 10:20; Rev. 7:9, 21:27)

The Local Church

Jesus Christ is the head of the church and in His divine wisdom, He delegates His authority to an appointed leader in every local church. This man is given singular headship by God and is to lead the local church as a healthy father would lead his family. This man is appointed by God to establish vision, values, and direction for the local church. God will surround the appointed leader with a team of gifted and committed leaders who will aid in the fulfillment of the vision. There are numerous examples of this throughout scripture: Moses, Joshua, David, Paul, James (Acts 15), Titus (Titus 1:5), and Timothy (Heb. 13:17).

Ministry

Divinely called and Scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose: (1) The evangelization of the world, and (2) The edification of the Body of Christ. Every Christian is to be equipped to fully participate in ministry (Mark 16:15, 20; Eph. 4:11-13).

Promise of Abundant Life

Every Christian is promised abundant life on this earth (John 10:10). It is the Father’s will for believers to become whole, healthy, and successful in all areas of life. All believers should seek the full benefits of Christ’s provision in order to better serve others.

1. Spiritual Abundance (John 3:3-11, 16; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10).
2. Mental and Emotional Abundance (2 Timothy 1:7; Philippians 4:7-8; Romans 8:6, 12:2; Isaiah 26:3).
3. Physical Abundance (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; 3 John 1:2).

4. Financial Abundance (Joshua 1:8; Malachi 3:10-11; 2 Corinthians 8:9, 9:6-15; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Psalm 34:8-10, 84:11; Philippians 4:19; Prov. 10:22, 11:25).

Marriage

God created marriage. It is a covenant made between a man and a woman that makes them one (Gen 2: 22-24; Matt 19: 5-6). God instituted monogamous marriage between a male and a female as the foundation of the family, the basic structure of human society. (Gen. 2:24) God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in other than in the context of marriage between a man and a woman. (1 Cor. 5:1, 6:9-11, 1 Tim. 1:9-11, Gen. 26:8-11, Lev. 18:1-30, Rom. 1:24-32, 1 Thes. 4:1-8, Heb. 13:4)

Divine Healing

Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of all believers (Isa. 53:4-5; Matt. 8:16-17; Mark 16:18).

The Kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God will be established on the earth by God through His church (Ps. 110:1 Is. 9:6-7, Matt. 3:2, 6:9).

The Second Coming of Christ

God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous (unsaved) will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous (saved) in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord (Matt. 16:27, 1 Thess. 4:16, John 14:1-3).

The New Heaven and New Earth

We, as promised in the Scriptures, look for a new heaven and a new earth wherein righteousness dwells (2 Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21:1).
